Board Member Profile: Eric Weberg

Friends Board Member Eric Weberg, who has served on the board for approximately ten years, was drawn to Friends of the Lake Oswego Library as a way to give back locally while supporting literacy, education, and lifelong learning in a tangible way.

“Growing up on my family’s cattle ranch in Central Oregon gave me an appreciation for community, shared resources, and learning outside of the classroom. Libraries have always represented opportunity and access to knowledge.”

Eric has served as both a supporter and board member. “My involvement has grown as I’ve seen firsthand the impact Friends has on the library and the broader community.”

“Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library plays a critical role in strengthening one of the most valuable assets in any community—its public library,” he said. “By supporting programs, collections, and experiences that go beyond basic funding, Friends helps ensure the library remains a welcoming place for all ages and backgrounds. I believe strongly in that mission and am proud to help support it.”

Eric currently serves on the Finance Committee. “As a board member, I help support fundraising efforts, provide strategic input, and advocate for the Library’s programs and long‑term vision,” he said. “Over the past year or two, my focus has included supporting community outreach initiatives, special events, and ensuring Friends continues to be a strong partner to the Lake Oswego Public Library.”

“Professionally, I’ve been a financial advisor with Edward Jones since 2002,” said Eric. “Over the years, I’ve also volunteered in several leadership roles within our firm, including Regional Client Solutions Leader, Recruiting Leader, Performance Leader, and currently Colleague & Culture Leader.” Eric holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and the Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ (AAMS™) designations.

Outside of work and Friends, Eric is active in the Lake Oswego community. He serves with the Lake Oswego Lions Club and supports organizations such as Northwest Housing Alternatives Lake Run, Lake Oswego Arts Council, Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation, NAMI Clackamas, the Alzheimer’s Association, Friends of Luscher Farm, and others. “Family is also central to my life—I’m a proud father of three daughters, 26, 22, and 19,” said Eric.

Currently, Eric is reading The New Retirementality by Mitch Anthony. “I tend to enjoy books that combine thoughtful storytelling with ideas I can reflect on—whether related to history, personal growth, or broader perspectives on community and leadership.”

“I would enjoy meeting Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend (authors of Boundaries) because of their unique storytelling along with hands-on perspective regarding work/life balance.”
